Lest we forget…

On our long weekend we commemorated ANZAC day. I believe it to be one of the most significant dates in Australian history, a day where we remember all that was endured and sacrificed over 100 years ago to enable us to have the freedom we have today. Sadly, there are no ANZACs remaining to share their stories of war, friendship, battle, loss and comradery. It is our duty as a nation to continue these traditions by remembering and commemorating everything our ANZACs achieved. It is also important to acknowledge our current defence members. These people currently serving continue to provide us with freedom, safety and security we experience daily living in this magnificent country.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them."

Thank you to Mrs Adams, our defence liaison support teacher, for organising a beautiful prayer celebration to commemorate ANZAC Day. Thank you also to all of our defence families, for everything you have done and continue to do on a daily basis. We greatly appreciate your continued hard work and dedication.

Important Term 2 Dates:

Sacramental Program

There have been a number of recent enquiries regarding the Sacrament of Holy Communion and the Sacrament of Confirmation. Holy Communion is scheduled for Sunday 15 August. Enrolment in this Sacrament is for Year 4 students who have made their First Reconciliation, as well as any Year 5 or 6 students who were unable to make this Sacrament previously. Further information regarding the online enrolment process will be provided later in the Term.

The date for the Sacrament of Confirmation is still pending, as we are waiting for further details from our Archbishop. As soon as it is confirmed it will be posted in the school newsletter. Stay tuned!
