Principal's Message
Dear parents, carers and the St Joseph’s community,
It is not often that I have little to say, but this week, after so much information over-load and awareness of the reality that we are now living, it seems difficult to share a great deal. Therefore I just want to express my appreciation for all that has been done and continues to be done by those within our own community, and in the broader sense, to care for each other at a time we could not ever have imagined.
It has become clear over this past week, that our community has not been spared by the economic and social challenges that have been thrust upon us, and at a time we physically are restricted in how we can rally around those in need. However, it is very evident that many are finding new and unique ways to reach out to others and to support. Please continue to find ways to connect with each other and know that we too are here to support as much as possible
Now that many of you have spent time at home, working as best as you can while at the same time guiding your children through various forms of online and remote learning…
We know that we are asking a lot of you and we understand that working, parenting and teaching are three different jobs that cannot be done at the same time.
If you find it hard, it is not because you are doing it wrong. It is hard because it is a lot to ask and it is not the norm. We thank you for all that you are undertaking.
Our advice is, when you have to pick, because at some point you will, choose connection. Pick playing a game over arguing about schoolwork. Pick teaching your child to do the laundry rather than feeling frustrated that they are not helping. Pick laughing and snuggling and reminding your child that they are safe.
If you are stressed, adjust your expectations and do what is achievable for you and your family. We are all in this together. Please take care of yourselves.

Parenting Ideas
I have spoken before about the value of this website, providing great advice and information for parents and teachers. This week I have included a link to a recent article that parents may appreciate.

Enrolment Time
Incredibly we are already turning our attention to 2021. While school open days and tours will need to wait, enrolments are now able to be submitted via the link on our website.
Yours in Christ,
Cameron Tarrant
