Library News

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to the Library for 2025! We moved into our new temporary Library space and I am excited to do lots of reading, and share amazing books with students all across the school. Library and Digital Technology lessons will take place either in the Library or in classrooms this year as we make changes to adapt to the space.

Students from ELC to Year 2 are required to bring a library bag on their library day every week. This can be as simple as a grocery bag, but it is important in order to keep books safe, but also to help identify their books and move them between classes. Years 3 to 6 do not have to bring one, but it is still a great idea. It also helps at home, as students can keep their books in the library bag when they are not reading them, so they don’t get mixed up on shelves or left under beds! Don’t forget to bring library books in to be returned each library day.

Library days this term are as follows:

Tuesday - 4 Green, 4 Gold, 5 Blue, 1 Teal, 1 Purple and 2 Yellow

Wednesday - 6 Silver, 6 Lime, ELC Possums, F White, F Red and 2 Magenta

Thursday - 5 Orange, ELC Echidnas, 3 Navy and 3 Black

If you do ever lose a book, or it accidently gets wet or eaten by a dog, please just send me an email or a note to let me know. It makes it easier to take it off the system and replace it if I know it is gone for good! And while it is not necessary, it is always greatly appreciated when parents send in a replacement book for the damaged or lost book.

Book Club went home last week and will go out once per term (except Term 3, as we have the Book Fair). The first edition is jam packed with books for all ages and reading levels. The Book Club is a great way to support our school as 15% of every order goes back to our Library to purchase new books. If you find something you like, simply follow the steps below to place an order and then the book will be delivered to your child’s class in a few short weeks. Orders close on Friday 21st February

Please reach out if you have any questions regarding the Library or Book Club

Looking forward to another wonderful year in the library!

.
